About
In line with the “Leave No One Behind” principle, this project targets the most vulnerable and marginalized children and youth, whose fundamental rights are systematically violated, as well as their families and communities. Beneficiaries include street children, orphans, underage prostitutes, young mothers, victims of abuse, violence, neglect, or rejection, as well as children accused of witchcraft, victims of conflict, human trafficking, illness, or living with disabilities. Our care centers provide them with a safe haven, basic nutrition, medical care, and, most importantly, personalized support for family reintegration and tailored training for societal reintegration.
Impact and Key Figures
3,850 street children, including 1,940 girls and 1,910 boys aged 0 to 25, benefit from our services.
Vulnerable youth (15-25 years old) lacking access to formal education in Kinshasa, Goma, Bukavu, and Uvira receive specialized support.
Our infrastructure includes 4 care centers in Kinshasa, 7 vocational training centers in the four target cities, and direct support to 500 women heading households.
12,200 local community members in Kinshasa and Kivu are educated on critical topics such as child rights and protective legislation.
Project Objectives
Strengthen the resilience and protection of street children and vulnerable youth through holistic and multidimensional care.
Ensure sustainable reintegration of children into their biological families, foster families, or support them in achieving full autonomy.
Train vulnerable youth in vocational skills and entrepreneurship to secure paid employment or equip them to launch their own ventures.
Raise awareness in local communities about child rights, laws against child labor, and existing protection mechanisms in the DRC.
Build the capacity of local partners to ensure more effective and efficient interventions.
Vision
The project aims to bring meaningful and lasting transformation to the lives of vulnerable children and youth in the DRC. By facilitating their educational, socio-professional, and family reintegration while actively involving their communities, the goal is to create an environment where every child has a fair chance to succeed and contribute to society.
